Retro Fest in Chatham 2014

We biked downtown to have a look at all the restored and classic cars lining the streets of town.  When I saw the 32 Ford street-rod  I talked Pen into sitting on the front wheel to bring back a memory of another time.  When I got home I dug out an old print taken 53 years earlier.  The early one was taken at the Brigden Fair while Larry Burke and I were selling raffle tickets to the public for a chance to win the roadster.  I seem to remember that the car was owned by the son of the Chrysler/Dodge dealer named McGregor in Petrolia.  He had two hot rods, one a coupe and one a drop top and the two of us drove them to several fairs around Lambton County in 1961.  Needless to say, the cars gave us a lot of chances to talk to GIRLS,  and at the age of 17 that is top on the list of important things in life.  The girl in the latest picture is my favourite girl.  I have forgotten who the two in 1961 were, but I know I would not recognize them now.  Just two ladies in their seventies!

Springtime visit from NL

Our globe-trotting cousins from NL  (that's Netherlands NOT Newfoundland) arrived last Tuesday fresh from a week in NYC and we enjoyed having them with us for a few days.  We caught up on family news, shared photos to see how we have all aged gracefully and laughed, talked, wined and dined.  Maarten Mols, (my moms youngest nephew) and wife Janny  have hosted us in Holland and it was a pleasure to reciprocate.  A few pics below cover the three day visit.
